About

More Than an SLP

While being a Speech Language Pathologist is a big part of who I am... It's not all that I am. I am a mom, wife, blogger, business owner, life coach, and pageant queen... a country music loving, coffee drinking, plant loving, small town girl with big city ambitions. I am a very transparent person and if you follow my blog at any point, you will see I share all sides of myself. what you see is what you get and I always try to be and give the best of myself.

After gaining experience in home health, school, and medical settings, I found myself wanting to provide more for my clients than the limitations of my employers would allow. As a mom, I also felt there was a huge piece of convenience missing in the therapy world...

I've received speech therapy, myself, after a traumatic brain injury and mild stroke when I was younger, it's part of what inspired me to change my career path from pre-med to an eager student in speech pathology. In many ways, I can relate from the perspective of a client. However, when we adopted our sweet baby girl, Nora, I learned quickly how attending therapy can also impact a parent. Juggling all of duties of a mom, in addition to a child that had additional needs, gave me a whole new perspective. I wanted to give her all I possibly could, but I also needed it to fit into our life (and budget). Nora still receives various therapies both locally and at the Children's hospital 2 hours away and our experience as a family has helped mold the model of therapy I provide today - the convenience of in-home services with a direct hands-on, functional approach.

I treat every client like family and strive to provide services I would want my own family to receive. I will always advocate for what is right and provide individualized evidenced-based interventions.
